2014? Bring it On!

But first… A look back on a year that changed music and fashion

When it comes to setting off trends in music and fashion across the globe, 2013 was a banner year. Ethel Da Costa speaks to some select artists to get their take on the hits and trends of the year that’s about to bid its last adieu.

For my buddy and mate in music, Bangalore-based DJ Arjun Nair of The Answer, 2013 was a pretty big year from the Goa perspective. He headlined Fashion Fridays Club Nite Series two editions in a row to packed clubs, giving him a taste of how hard Goans do party. DJ Arjun spends most of his waking hours in a club.I’m picking these songs over the rest as they never failed to smash the dance-floor each time we dropped these tunes. Tunes Like Mammoth, Reload, Animals, Lose Myself were some of the biggest tunes for this year! “ He can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for him.

10 Most Definitive Club Mixes of 2013, according to DJ Arjun:

Next let’s hear from DJ Amit Makwana, Head Resident DJ at China House, Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, nominee of the Myfav DJ awards 2013 in-house music category, and spinner for Oktoberfest 2013, Baga. “2013 has been a great year for India in terms of music. Exposure to big live acts by various big international artists and massive events has set a solid platform for DJs and musicians from India and other parts of the world to come together. You don’t need to travel out of India now to see the world’s most favourite and famous DJs perform. It’s all happening here, providing a lot of ground for fresh talent to emerge in various new styles,” states DJ Amit.
