Musical Fiesta Nite 2017 organized by the Goan Outreach Association of Mumbai saw a record crowd of over 2500 people braving the Mumbai traffic to reach Dublin Square at Phoenix Market City Mall in Kurla (West) on 14th January 2017, much before the scheduled time for the show to begin.

This show was sponsored by Viva-Goa, K Raheja Corp and co-sponsored by Expat Properties.

“Words can’t express my deep gratitude to all the people who put this amazing show together for the love of spreading Konkani music through song and dance right here in the heart of Mumbai. We had a host of talented singers and musicians coming together all for a good cause” says Sebastian A Sequeira, President of Goan Outreach Association.

Lovers of Konkani music from Mumbai, Goa and abroad came to witness this first mega show of this year to watch their favorite singers performing with a live band on stage with talented musicians from Goa & Mumbai in attendance.

Opening the act on time was compere for the evening Engelbert Rose with his unique style taking the stage to announce and welcome the dynamic Goencho Avaz winners from Goa of Shunaina Baptista & Ancy Gonsalves who sang their favorite hit songs.

What followed next took everyone by surprise, the one and only Nightingale of Goa and the unforgettable Diva of Konkani music legend Lorna came on stage wearing her long orange gown which shimmered in the light and the crowd just screamed to welcome her on stage.

With her unforgettable deep voice she made her fans go wild while she belted out all her popular songs ‘Noxibak Rodta’, ‘Dennem’, ‘Abghat Kelo’, Tuzo Mog’, ‘Calangute’, ‘Sopon’, and many more of her favorite songs while blowing kisses in the air to everyone present saying “I love you all’ they kept singing and dancing near the stage she even shook hands with each of them. One could see the crowd singing and dancing to all her nostalgic songs of yesteryear.

Next on stage came singer–composer and internationally acclaimed Goa’s favorite pop singer Allan Vaz who took up the initiative to share and promote the love of this sweet language of Goa for our younger generation.

Allan sang songs from his two pop albums ‘Goenchim Festam’ song title ‘Sambhav Mojem Kalliz’ and ‘Lojeanaka’ and he had all his fans screaming for ‘Mira Mira.’ With his intimate style of showmanship on stage he sang his heart out to all his fans during his performances. He now plans to release his third album shortly entitled ‘Fall in Love’.

Rita Rose

The unforgettable Rita Rose wife of the late legendary singer Alfred Rose came next to sing songs like ‘Bomboichi Birmoti’ ‘Gupit Mog’ among others of her favorite numbers which brought back memories of her late husband.

O’luv

The crowd puller for the younger audiences present was the lovable, adorable and dashing Goa’s Pop Sensation Olavo Rodriguez (Popularly known as O’luv) came in holding a long horn and a packet of Goa’s favorite round bread rings ‘Kakonn’ which he brought all the way from Sunny Goa. He went around singing and distributing it among the audiences.

Singing songs from his album ‘Love You, Goa’, ‘Sandra’,’Moga Mandolin’, ‘Carolina’, ‘Sogllo Sounsar’, ‘Cucu Rucu Cu’, ‘Ami Goenkar’ ‘Kor Cantar’, he had the young crowd jiving and singing to his popular love songs.

Internationally renowned dance choreographer and Bollywood Jhalak Dikhla Jha fame Tobby Fernandes, sponsored his performances. He kept the show alive with his amazing dance troupe performing the Goan melody through song and dance with a range of colorful carnival type outfits for each of his dances, which had the audiences clapping and cheering all the way till the very end.

As they say the best was yet to come and so to wrap up an enjoyable evening of high octane Konkani music from the land of Goa, all the artists, musicians and dancers came together for a grand finale on the song of Lorna ‘BEBDO’. This act took back memories that will be the much talked about show among all the audiences present who truly enjoyed an evening of Konkani music and the spirit of Goa in Mumbai.
