Paper Boat Collective, with our media partner Goa Streets, is pleased to invite you for the Christmas Pop-Up Bazaar, a really fun filled happy event on the 21st and 22nd of December, 11am-7pm, at The Backyard (Behind Paper Boat Collective on Chogm Road in Sangolda). There something for everyone in the family

24 different interesting names to shop from for men, women, and kids. Pottery, origami and recyled workshops for children. Face painting excitement. Get an insight into your life with our tarot card reader, have a tête-à-tête with our hair styling consultant, get inked with our tattoo artist…. Paint, stick, texture our 15-foot  wall and decorate our 10-foot-tall recycled beer bottle Christmas tree. Sing to your heart’s content on the open mike. Eat, drink and make merry. Enjoy a special performance by our associated children’s charity www.childsplayindia.org. ABOUT THE DESIGNERS —some of them!

Le Roi Arthur Boutique- French artist settled in Goa since October 2012, in the creation of socially responsible handmade bags, fashion accessories and decorating items. Her husband and herself have run a cafe/shop and boutique in Goa since July 2013.

Tea Trunk- Tea Trunk is founded by Snigdha, a certified Tea Sommelier specializing in creating hand-blended teas. Snigdha guarded her teas from around the world in her dad’s vintage trunk until the day she realized that tea tastes best when shared. Tea Trunk is the home of her teas and their aromatic stories. Shop for gourmet teas on www.teatrunk.com – finest Indian tea leaves blended with all natural ingredients, crafted by a Tea Sommelier.

 Kalakar- A collection of fresh and contemporary hand woven scarves made by Goan weavers to preserve the weaving heritage while infusing tradition with new inspiration. The pieces are created on ancient handlooms using soft, absorbent, natural dyed cotton threads.

Rouka– ROUKA stands for work that forms the corridor, empowering the weaver and the wearer, co-creating fashion that forms a contemporary harbour to our tradition. The label is launched by Sreejith Jeevan, a textile graduate from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and the Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Arts Decoratifs, Paris. Sreejith now works from his studio in Kochi, creating a timeless style.

Ouseko by Phillipa Wood– This outfit has been stitching and collecting beautiful textiles since their earliest memories. Everything is sourced from markets & villages in various corners of the world & lovingly recreated with their own fair hands…’Ouseko’ means thank you.

O layla– O LAYLA is a Mumbai based sustainable fashion label that retails through its exclusive stores in Delhi and Goa in India. It showcases an EDGY, QUIRKY and ECLECTIC range of fashion, accessories and lifestyle products.

Lola by Suman B- The label Lola by Suman B was launched in April 2013 guided by the creative vision of Suman B. The design house’s uniqueness lies in the fact that it bases its foundation on the idea of collaborations.

‘Lola by Suman B’ brings together the unique style of Suman B with that of whomever she is collaborating with. This ensures that the basic design sensibility will be constant, while exploring inspired and imaginative ideas through the coming together of two distinct personalities; making it different, but not disconnected.

CROW– Crow’, a newly launched fashion and lifestyle brand . It is the
creative dream of a young Indian designer Shaila S. Khubchandani and it
embraces the appreciation for winsome little dresses which are comfortable to wear. It’s uncompromising on quality and uniqueness but at the same
time gives a wide price range to choose from. The designs not only include dresses but also a wide variety of exquisite bags. Each garment is intricately crafted in India .

Aaravan – Aavaran is known for its contemporized Dabu and Phentiya prints done at the Akola village near Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan. Different types of hand embroideries embellished on the apparels along with the beautiful silhouettes are the unique selling point of Aavaran.
Aavaran is a unit set up by Centre of the Study of Values (COS-V) a leading NGO, in Udaipur (Raj.) and has been working for the development of deprived tribal communities of southern Rajasthan since 1988.

Saffron Wiehl-Illustrator, inspired by life and all things feminine and beautiful.  Growing up in Goa (India) has had a big effect on her life and how she see things. She tries to see the beauty in everything…even the smallest of things a person doesn’t even notice some times.

Nadia Gunadisurya– Photographer originally from Indonesia, and a former hotelier who quit her job to turn full-time housewife, Nadia, who has been living in Goa for the last three years, happened to come across these nomadic women and couldn’t rest until she had captured them in her frames. Her recently held exhibition, aptly titled ‘Raw’ at the Alliance Francaise in Panjim was made up of 38 pictures that truly represented the beauty of these ladies who work long hours in the sun to feed their families. Her exhibition at the Christmas Pop-Up Bazaar will be titled ‘Goa Goa On the Wall.’

About Child’s Play India

Child’s Play India Foundation (www.childsplayindia.org) is a music charity that seeks to instill positive values and provide social empowerment to India’s disadvantaged children through the teaching of classical music to the highest possible standard. It is inspired by the El Sistema music phenomenon which began in Latin America in the 1970s and is sweeping across the world.

Musical Performances

There will be a number of musical performances reflecting different genres. One of the highlights will happen on Sunday, Dec. 22, when

Ashley do Rego and Elvina Fernandes will perform. Ashley plays violin and Elvina the viola – and the duo are without a doubt among the best in their field in all of India.
