International Jazz Stars To Rock Goa

Teamwork Arts, a highly versatile entertainment company, with roots in the performing arts, social action, and the corporate world, will present this year’s Goa International Jazz Live Festival (GIJLF) on the weekend of Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27 at the Stonewater Eco Resort. The GIJLF therefore becomes part of Teamwork Arts’ Jazz India Circuit.

The event which will be held once again at the popular, Stonewater Eco Resort near Bogmalo will be a contemporary and eclectic take on the classic jazz sound.

The GIJLF this year will revel in the ‘The Joy of the Experiment’ and will mix punk, hip-hop, R&B and other forms of music with jazz to come up with sounds that appeal to both the ears and feet. At the heart of the festival is jazz and the body and soul are spiced up with experimental jams filled with punk, funk and other genres.

Sanjoy Roy, MD, Teamwork Arts said, “Teamwork Arts continues to innovate, experiment and create platforms for the arts. Jazz India Circuit (JIC) aims to reinforce the jazz scene in India through a series of festivals across the country including in Goa and NCR.”

The line-up at GIJLF 2016 will include the likes of Hely(Switzerland), DMT Jazz Trio (Delhi), Gael Horellou Identite (Reunion Island), Yuichiro Tokuda’s Ralyzzdig (Japan), True School All Stars (USA), Tam De Villiers Quartet (France), World Service Project (UK), The Steve Sequeira Ensemble (Goa) and Malika Tirolien (Canada).

For over two decades now, Teamwork Arts has taken India to the world and brought the world to India. Teamwork produces over 25 highly acclaimed performing arts, visual arts and literary festivals across more than 40 cities which include one of the world’s largest free literary gatherings, the annual ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival.

Teamwork Arts has now embarked on setting up a jazz circuit to entertain and educate jazz lovers. The 2016 Jazz India Circuit (JIC) will take off with the Goa International Jazz Live Festival (26th and 27th November) and will reach its crescendo with the legendary Jazz Yatra in Delhi (3rd and 4th December) in collaboration with Capital Jazz to feature jazz icon Stanley Jordan as its headlining act.
